What is the Esetrix TrustPay integration?

The Esetrix TrustPay integration is a native payments connector that brings regulated escrow, split payments, and automated supplier payouts into Esetrix marketplace infrastructure. Customer funds are captured into a PSD2-regulated escrow account and held until configurable release conditions are met, such as delivery confirmation or dispute window expiry. On release, funds are split between the marketplace operator and suppliers according to the commission rules defined in Esetrix. The integration also covers supplier KYC and onboarding, multi-currency settlement, European payment methods, PSD2-compliant Strong Customer Authentication, escrow-aware refunds, and full lifecycle reconciliation. Marketplace operators typically go live in 4 to 6 weeks.

Capabilities

Regulated escrow for every marketplace payment. Orchestrated by Esetrix.

Escrow, split payments, supplier KYC, European payment methods, multi-currency, PSD2 compliance, refunds, payouts, and reconciliation. All native, all reconciled to a single marketplace ledger.

Split payments at the transaction
Every marketplace order is split between the operator and supplier at the moment of capture. Commission, platform fees, and supplier portions are calculated by Esetrix and executed natively through TrustPay so reconciliation is exact from the first transaction.
Escrow with configurable release triggers
Customer funds are held in a regulated escrow account until fulfilment conditions are met. Release triggers are configurable per marketplace: delivery confirmation, dispute window expiry, or manual approval. Funds never reach suppliers until the buyer is protected.
Supplier KYC and onboarding
TrustPay handles supplier identity verification, beneficial ownership checks, and bank account validation as part of marketplace onboarding. Verification status syncs back to Esetrix so only compliant suppliers can receive payouts.
European payment methods
Cards, SEPA direct debit, bank transfers, and local European payment methods. The marketplace enables the methods relevant to its customer base and Esetrix configures the checkout accordingly.
Multi-currency settlement
Accept payments in multiple currencies, settle in the marketplace's base currency, and pay out to suppliers in theirs. TrustPay handles the foreign exchange and Esetrix reconciles presentment, settlement, and payout amounts against every order.
PSD2 and Strong Customer Authentication
Full PSD2 compliance with 3D Secure 2 for European transactions. Exemptions applied where permitted to reduce friction. TrustPay manages the authentication flow and Esetrix records the outcome against every order.
Escrow-aware refunds
Full, partial, and line-level refunds are handled through the marketplace workflow. If funds are still in escrow, the refund releases directly to the customer. If funds have been disbursed, Esetrix recalculates the split and reverses the supplier portion.
Automated supplier payouts
Payout schedules, hold periods, reserves, and minimum thresholds are configured per supplier or per segment. TrustPay releases funds from escrow on schedule once release conditions are satisfied. Payout statements are generated automatically.
Reconciliation and reporting
Escrow balances, captures, releases, refunds, and payouts flow from TrustPay into Esetrix and reconcile against every order, commission, and supplier transfer. Finance teams work from one ledger across the full marketplace lifecycle.
Architecture

How data flows between TrustPay and your Esetrix-powered marketplace.

TrustPay owns payment capture, escrow custody, and supplier settlement. Esetrix owns the marketplace rules: splits, commission, release triggers, refunds, and reconciliation. The two stay in lockstep through a native, event-driven integration.

  • Split rules and commission rates
  • Customer and billing data
  • Refund and cancellation requests

  • Escrow release and payout events
  • Refund completion notifications
  • Balance and settlement reports
  • Chargeback and dispute events
Escrow protects both sides. Customer funds are held in a regulated account until fulfilment is confirmed. Suppliers are paid only when the marketplace authorises release. One ledger tracks capture, hold, release, and payout against every order.
Implementation

Four steps from TrustPay contract to marketplace live.

Esetrix runs the integration end to end against the marketplace's TrustPay merchant account. No bespoke payments engineering team required.

01
Connect the marketplace TrustPay account
Authorise the Esetrix connector against the marketplace's TrustPay merchant account. Esetrix provisions API credentials, webhook endpoints, and reporting feeds. No bespoke payments development required on the marketplace side.
02
Configure escrow rules, splits, and methods
Define commission rates, escrow release triggers, hold periods, and payout cadence per supplier segment. Select the payment methods to offer at checkout. Esetrix writes the configuration and surfaces it in the marketplace admin for ongoing control.
03
Launch supplier onboarding and KYC
Suppliers complete identity verification and bank account validation through TrustPay's onboarding flow, triggered from the Esetrix supplier portal. Status flows back so only verified suppliers go live and can receive payouts.
04
Go live. Escrow, splits, and payouts flow end to end
Orders capture into escrow, release on fulfilment confirmation, and split to suppliers on schedule. Refunds, disputes, and payout reconciliation run through a single marketplace ledger shared between Esetrix and TrustPay.

Questions

What marketplace operators usually ask about the TrustPay connector.

TrustPay is a licensed European payment institution regulated under PSD2. Marketplaces use TrustPay because it provides regulated escrow, meaning customer funds are held in a protected account until fulfilment conditions are met. This protects buyers, reduces chargeback risk, and ensures suppliers are paid only when the marketplace confirms delivery or the dispute window closes.
